About Our Pastor
Pastor Marcus Downs is a Fervent speaker about God's word. His dynamic speaking style and challenging messages capture the attention of a wide spectrum of audiences. Pastor Downs is passionate about out reach and reaching people for the Gospel sake. Pastor Downs moved to Texas seven years ago from Chicago IL. Since relocating to Texas he took training at the East Texas Ministry Institute in Corsicana Texas where he received his ministry credentials and holds an Ordination License with the PCG church.
Pastor Downs is a family-oriented, dedicated husband. He is married to LaNita Downs who also holds credentials with the PCG church. LaNita is a women's speaker and teacher of the Word of God.
Our History
Glad Tidings was founded in 1986 by Rev. Jimmy and Denise Rogers in their home in Huffman, Texas, with a vision to impact the community and see lives changed through the gospel of Jesus Christ and the power of the Holy Spirit. That vision continues today as we gather together as a church family, grow deeper in our walk with God, and go share the saving power of Jesus with the world.
